Tell us more about your woman-owned business.
My business is a multi-faceted shining circle of energy that supports my creative & spiritual passions. It is the vehicle through which I can share what I wish to share with the world.
Why did you decide to start this type of business?
I've been creating and doing retreats for some time but I wanted to find a way to share on a bigger scale. Creating a business, business plan and a scale of money exchange, has enabled me to make this happen.

What makes your business unique?Every person's business has to resonate and work within the unique spirit that they are.
I have so many creative and spiritual passions. I didn't want to choose between them - so my business is tailored to fit me and my passions, not the other way around.
Can you share with us the challenges that you have encountered related to starting a business?
I think the very first lesson I needed to learn was being comforatble with charging for my passions and creative pursuits. Because I loved doing it, I didn't want to charge. Consequently, when people asked for a painting I would just give them one. One of my spiritual mentors gave me a really good lesson about there needing to be an energy exchange in all transactions. When we give, we also need to receive; when we receive, we also should give. This means every person is invested in the energy exchange, and that often we treasure more what we have received out of it. So learning to ask for abundance back that would nourish me, my dreams, and lifestyle was the first biggest soul lesson I learned about business.
What has been your biggest success thus far?I feel like my biggest success has been in completing some of my dreams. I'm an awesome *starter* of dreams - I get very inspired and energized at the beginning of ideas. However, I find it hard to actually finish them through to completion. Learning to complete my dreams to fulfillment has been huge and equally wonderful. Some of the completion successes I've celebrated have been running a three day Goddess Gathering women's retreat and finishing a book proposal.
What is your favorite free business resource?
I have to be biased here! I also work as a web editor for www.business.gov.au which is a business information web site for Australian businesses.
Can you share with us something that very few people know as it relates to your business?
That having Faith in myself, my gifts and my dream is both the biggest challenge to find and also the fuel that runs the business vehicle. It is totally necessary but can be the most difficult to muster sometimes. :)
What words of advice would you provide to others who are considering starting a business?
Have balance between finding inspiration and wisdom in those who have gone before you. Also actually just doing it yourself, and trusting your own inner wisdom, guidance and dream-fuel.
Inside you is a Goddess just waiting to show you the way of your dreams and gifts.

Goddess Leoni is a powerful affirmation for us all. I love that she uses the energy of the goddess to move her dreams into reality. Her words really touched me: "multi-faceted shining circle of energy that supports my creative & spiritual passions."
The image of a circle of energy is something I can really relate to. I love what Leoni said about energy exchanges. There are so many ways to exchange energy. We can do it by sharing information, giving support in person or by phone and email, spreading the word about another person's gifts and talents, spotlighting the efforts of others on blogs and web sites (like Pink Heels), purchasing services and products, bartering services, spending one-on-one time with another person and listening, saying thank you to another person, making referrals, writing cards of appreciation, taking the time to pray for and affirm another person's dreams etc. The list is endless.
I agree! Her message is beautiful, inspiring, and nurturing.
If you are interested in participating in a circle of energy with women around the world, contact Nicole Graham (previously spotlighted entrepreneur) or Natalie Maisel (previously spotlighted entrepreneur). Both women offer a variety of opportunities to further explore this concept.
I have on my list of things to do in 2009 is buy my 7 year old one of Leonie's prints highlighting all her gifts and talents as I see through a mother's eyes, as she grows up I hope it will serve as a reminder of her talents.
That is a great idea Sarah! I attended the birthday party for a one-year old a couple of weeks ago and his aunt made him something very similar. It was a drawing/painting highlighting the events of his first year of life. She is going to make one for him every year.
I am going to have Leonie make a special one focused on my sisters.
I love her interview! She has inspried me and others at the Wellness Journey studio. To
know that you can be making a
living off your passions and
dreams makes you so motivated
to take action and have fun with
life. Thanks Leonie Allan and
